Can you imagine someone saying they wanted to be a good baseball player, but they never took the time to watch great players play. My sons want to be baseball players, and they watch baseball and baseball highlights so they can imitate the big leaguers. Same is true no matter the sport, including weightlifting. So ask yourself, when was the last time you watched a video of a nationally ranked lifter doing the snatch or clean & jerk?
