Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our program for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.
The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.”
At CrossFit Lynchburg our goal is to help all kinds of people become FIT. This does not mean that we want to help people look good. If you become FIT you will end up looking as good as you can possibly look. FIT is not something that has a look – it is definable by your strength, endurance and mobility. It is defined by work capacity.
At CrossFit Lynchburg our trainers will help you learn functional movements like squats, deadlifts, presses, cleans and snatches. These are the moves that athletes do. We do not have machines. We do not have mirrors. If we see you doing something incorrectly, we will help you with it. When was the last time someone at your gym helped you with you clean and jerk technique? They haven’t been trained to do this, so they never will.
